Picture Atlantic Song Meanings - Slip into the Sea

Listen - Slip into the Sea by Picture Atlantic

I want the middle
Not the in-between
I want the ending
Not the lucid dream

Building our blue prints on desire
The answer will seem to be
A life of only me

Caught in the middle while leapt from the brink
I felt myself slip into the sea
Watching your eyes
Knowing that I
Might not want what you can give to me
And so you see

Unlocking chests filled with history
I saw you there
Writing in your diary

Building our passions on desire
And the answer will seem to be
A life of only me

Caught in the middle while leapt from the brink
I felt myself slip into the sea
Watching your thighs, knowing that I
Might not want what I can get for free
And so you see
My insides feel tired
And so you see
Caught up in wires spun from me

And I will find you
Wherever you may be
Even if then
A million miles from me

"This was an interesting song because I wrote it when I was in the situation the song is about. Sort of like painting yourself in a car while you ride in the back. More or less I saw that I could have someone that ultimately wouldn’t be a good thing. Sometimes just because you can have someone, doesn’t mean you need to. I felt a bit distressed, and a little torn at the time. For what it’s worth, it was a road trip song, whatever that means.” -Nik
